Bulgarian Black Sea apartments for rent

Do you like the sound of the waves, the smell of the sea, and the views of the big blue? So do we and that is why from spring-summer 2020 we are looking for apartments for rent on the Bulgarian Black Sea, where we can combine the whole idyll above with the opportunity to work. If you want to both change the landscape and get work done, take a look at the apartments we have stayed at and recommend below.

We have several main criteria when choosing a place to stay at the seaside. First, we prefer a private apartment with an equipped kitchen so that we are independent of restaurants and can cook and eat whatever and whenever we want. We want to have a terrace so that we can spend time outside, to catch the sea breeze, and if there is a view of the sea, it’s just wonderful! We need stable internet so that we can work, even if we have a backup plan – mobile data from our phones.

Apartment in Tsarevo

Tsarevo is one of our favorite seaside towns because it is always calm, beautiful, and romantic. When we were looking for a place to stay there in May, we knew it would be too calm, but we can’t complain. We found a great apartment for rent, Studios Grace Port Tsarevo, which is a 5-minute walk from the center and right on the seafront promenade.

Our apartment (the host Kosta rents out two apartments, next to each other, with minimal differences in the interior) had a huge terrace with table and chairs, where we spent a lot of time. The view is to the sea, you can see the port of Tsarevo, and the whole seafront promenade all the way to the neighborhood Vasiliko.

In the apartment itself, the bedroom was separated from the living room (which had two more beds) by the kitchen. The kitchen was equipped with all the appliances and utensils we needed for our four-day stay, and Kosta left us a welcome bottle of wine. The high dining table was very comfortable for work as well. There is a relatively large supermarket a one-minute walk away.

From the bedroom we had an incredible view through the high windows towards the sea, every morning we woke up full of energy and ready for action. Indeed, we got up much earlier than usual and had much more energy. The magic of the sea!

Both apartments of Studios Grace Port Tsarevo are for four people (ours has a double bedroom + two single beds, the other – a double bedroom + 2 bunk beds) and come with parking spaces in the parking lot to the building. In high or low season, we would go back there because we really liked it for work and leisure, even just for the refreshing views and fresh air.

Apartment in Balchik

For our stay in Balchik, we chose an apartment in an aparthotel on the seaside promenade. Dambata (as they call the promenade) has been repaired and renovated and offers you great walks – in theory, you can get all the way to Albena resort. In fact, we gave up somewhere around the Fish-fish holiday village, where the alley is seriously falling apart and partly collapsed into the sea. Let’s go back to the apartment – if you choose accommodation near the promenade in Balchik, you will easily be motivated for walking, jogging, cycling, etc.

Balchik Palace and the sea promenade, Bulgaria

Balchik Sea View Apartment fully lives up to its name and the views of the sea and the small piers where fishermen often fish are amazing. We spent a lot of time at the table on the terrace, inhaling fresh sea air. The bedroom has tall windows and waking up with the big blue ahead of you just inspiring!

As probably most in the area, this one is also a serviced apartment. We used the high kitchen table both for eating and working, the kitchen itself was fully equipped for what we wanted to prepare for our one-week stay in the apartment. There are shops and supermarkets nearby, but in reality, only two small shops were open in late May / early June, so sometimes we had to drive outside the resort area, to the top of Balchik town.

The internet in the apartment failed us once or twice, but then there were rain and bad weather and probably those mishaps are connected. We had almost no neighbors and it was generally very quiet, except on the weekends when many people visit the town and the seaside for a day or two. Most restaurants are open and it will be difficult for you to get bored or stay hungry in Balchik.

Even on the busy days, we managed to find a parking spot from the ones designated for the building, and the pool was being prepared for the season opening. Not far from Balchik Sea View Apartment are the Central Beach and several smaller beaches, as well as one of the entrances to the Balchik Palace.

We hope you enjoy our suggestions for apartments for rent on the Bulgarian Black Sea. And here are the most beautiful beaches in Bulgaria to visit while you are in the Black Sea region!
