Under the skies of Paris

Paris has many names – City of Light, City of Love and many more. They are all well-deserved!

Once we felt its magic in the winter of 2011. However, recently we had a chance to visit it in the spring (2013) and we took it. We were welcomed by sunny, green and fragrant Paris. This only made us proud of our decision to visit it again.

We only had a couple of days in the city. After that, we had plans to go to São Paulo and then Peru.

As you can see from the photo, we started at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris (a.k.a. Sacré-Cœur). On our previous visit, we managed to feel the spirit and see the view in the night. That was great. This time we were there during the day and we were able to enjoy the fountains, the green gardens and the clear view of the huge Paris.

We shared the beauties of the place with many other visitors. There was also a photo session of a newly-wedded family. But you can’t blame them – who wouldn’t want to commemorate an important moment in their life in front of the great landmarks in France?

A short walk through Montmartre and feeling the art mood there cannot be bad.

Eiffel Tower! Finally!

Due to an airplane delay last time we were in Paris we couldn’t get on the Eiffel Tower. Today we are changing that. We arrived at the Trocadero square and enjoyed the view of the architectural miracle from afar. We decided to try the famous French crepes.

If you’re afraid you have just a few days in Paris, check this wonderful 3-day itinerary for the city of love!

We finally climbed, we are at the Eiffel Tower. We found the champagne bar was the most interesting thing there. The view was amazing, too. It takes your breath away and makes you take millions of pictures. There is no point in more words now. Let the photos speak.

After that we had some relax time as the locals do.

It was not the only place we tried to be as much like locals as we can. Because it was springtime in Paris, weather allowed us to have the famous Magdalena breakfast. And you can go farther and discover off-the-beaten-path places in Paris.

Apparently, many others do that, too.

We also had lunch at The Tuileries Garden (Jardin des Tuileries). There a bird managed to score at our just-opened can of beer. Speaking of beer, you can always put together an Amsterdam and Paris itinerary so you can enjoy the best of two not so far from each other but totally different worlds. The Louvre we visited last time in Paris and we spent a decent amount of time, exploring even the Egyptian exhibition. So we’ll leave enjoying the Louvre artworks again for our next, hopefully, longer visit.
