Most of Stockholm’s subway stations (a.k.a. Tunnelbana) have unique design.
Some are inspired by video games, some by nature, some by history and some are the result of pure imagination.
During our visit to Sweden in 2017 we managed to see some of them and here is the video we made from our photos:
For those of you, who plan to visit Stockholm, we recommend using the blue metro lines, since there were a lot of beautiful stations there. My personal favorite is “Solna centrum”. (This is the one in green and red and a lot of nature motives.) Also, the red line between the stations “Stadion” and “Universitetet” has some gorgeous art treasures.
Exploring the subway stations, or as I like to call it Subway Surfing, is a great activity for the afternoon and evening, since most of the attractions and museums in Stockholm are already closed by 5 p.m. Just don’t get too carried away, as we did on our first night of Subway Surfing, or you might end up waiting for half an hour for the next train to come…
Have you already been to Stockholm? Which is your favorite station?
